Hole 17 @ Bay View
Major - Shamble @ Bay View
In May, the Squolf League will descend upon Bay View Golf Course, a difficult course in the hills of Milpitas that many are afraid to play solo. At 6,153 yards and a slope rating of 130, this course is a brutal combination of narrow fairways and challenging greens. Bay View will host the 2026 Shamble Major, a beautiful combo of scramble off the tee and best ball the rest of the way to the hole. May the best duo win.
The Format: 2 player teams will compete in a best ball format. Scramble style on all tee shots, then each player will play their own ball the rest of the way to the green. The team's score on each hole will be the lower net score between the two players. Monthly handicaps will be applied to ensure both members of a team have a chance to contribute.
- Example: Cal (0 HCP) & Mike (15 HCP) are a team. On hole 1 (HCP 6), Cal scores a Par and Mike scores a double bogey. Mike's score will be adjusted to bogey based on handicap, but because Cal scored a par, the team's score for that hole is par.
2025 Winners: Alonso and Brian with a score of 72
Solo - Los Lagos (White Tees)
Drive just three minutes off Highway 101 and you wouldn’t expect to stumble onto a lush golf course that feels more like a state park. Yet Los Lagos delivers exactly that — then immediately asks you to hit a tee shot over water. Not once, not twice, but three times, proudly living up to its name.
At first glance, the course looks short and straightforward at just under 5,000 yards. Step up to the tee, though, and the illusion fades. Blind tee shots, cleverly placed bunkers, foxes casually occupying tee boxes, and greens that refuse to read the way you want combine into a deceptively tough challenge. Last year, Alonso earned the nickname Mr. May with an eight-stroke victory here. Will his dominance continue, or will a new King of the Lakes rise?
